Backsliding

Backsliding

Still Looking for a way Out!

Backsliding;When we talk of the person who takes for granted that ultimate sacrifice that our Lord and savior Jesus went through at cavalry we see a person that has ultimately accepted the sting of Satan's temptations.

It's easy for you to say, you are not going through with what I'm going through!! What a common statement; I've used it myself in fact when I have my pity parties I use it a lot.

Think about it, first you say, I'm not going to church because I don't want to be a (#*#@) hypocrite, why the (#*#&) did this happen to me?

The Bible says that God loves me, just look at the kind of (#@*&) I'm going through. It is at this point that satan takes full advantage of the situation you have placed before him. He will ride your shoulder and quickly convinces you that you need a drink, or a smoke, or some dope. Boy that was easy, wasn't it?

When you give in to these temptations, this is what happens from beginning to temptation.First you have accepted the Lord and you're happy, happy, you're walking on air, you can't wait to tell of the thing that the Lord has done in your life, you are invincible, if He is for you, who can be against you! Ah, Hah.

Then you step on a tiny pebble, (Note! No matter how big you may think your problem is, it is tiny for the Lord) and you go (ooooooooghh) how did this happen? No matter how hard you try I always end up in pile of (#*&$#@$*&) what a mess! At this point you take some nails and a hammer and start nailing His hands and feet to that infamous cross where you say He is not.

Then you sit there and mock Him as if He was responsible for what you are going through. It was not Him. Show me you say? Ok, check this out, Heb 6:6 if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.

Lets look at " if they fall away" The Jerusalem Bible describes it this way "The irreparable apostasy of rejecting Christ and not believing in the power of His sacrifice to save"( They cannot be repentant if they have willfully crucified the Son of God and openly mocked Him.)

Matt 23:31 "Therefore you are witnesses against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets.

Matt 23:32 "Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers' guilt.

Luke 11:48 "In fact, you bear witness that you approve the deeds of your fathers; for they indeed killed them, and you build their tombs.

Heb 10:29 How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?

It is time to get serious about the things of God, stop wimping out on every little set back you may end up having, because not only do you step back, you may cause others to flutter. And guess who may end up being responsible for their set back?

A backslider allows the Spirit to remain idle in your life. The Spirit cannot function when you remain or go back into sin. It tells the world that you never really accept the salvation of the blood that was spilled at Calvary.

Those who backslide, or go out from us, were not really of the body of Christ, because if they had been of the body of Christ, they would have remained in the body of Christ.

I Jn 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not {really} of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but {they went out,} in order that it might be shown that they all are not of us.

The temptations of the prince of Belial (the devil) ferment in the mind of the backslider, and believes that he has to serve other gods,,,( Sin ) though he has been bought with innocent blood, he still feels he has to turn his back on Him that hung on the cross.

All for a moment of "peace" but when you come down from, or out of that so called peace, then shame sets in. And the first one that is blamed is Jesus!

Deut 13:13 Certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known;

The weakness of the backslider is that the devil makes him feel like the seed that fell in the stony place. Having no strength in the root, no foundation, no commitment, a spiritual coward.

Matt 13:20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;

Matt 13:21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

Mark 4:5 And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:

Mark 4:6 But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.

Luke 8:13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

2 Pet 2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

2 Pet 2:21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

Stop blaming God for your mistakes. I recently read the following in a magazine which the article had to do with diets or something and this is my interpretation of

"I would like to"..."I want to"..."I will"!

My interpretation is as follows

"I would like to," means that you know that things in your life are not as they should be and you desire a different life style.

"I want to," means you know you cannot go on like this. You want to stop wavering to and fro, and make a decision.

"I will," means that you make a clear decision right now!

Turn the "I will" into immediate action.

Think about the times we are living in, look around you, pride will destroy you, arrogance will destroy you, Jesus will save you!

2 Chr 7:14 "if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. God Bless You!
